Brown Soda Bread
180g/6oz plain flour
340g/12oz wholemeal flour
2 level tsp bread soda (sieved)
575ml/ 1 pt (buttermilk or milk with 1 dsp vinegar/ lemon juice added or sour milk)
85g/ 3oz porridge oats
1 dsp of bran
Preheat the oven to 200C/ 400 F/ Gas Mark 6. Oil the 2lb loaf tin.
Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl. Beat egg and milk and add to the dry ingredients
Pour into the tin and bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes.
