To Lease by Tender - Units 3 and 6, Grand Parade Market, the English Market

Tenders are invited by Cork City Council from competent persons/companies for the lease of units 3 and 6, the Grand Parade Market, the English Market, Cork.

Leases in the English Market can arise either by (1) the City Council acquiring a unit or (2) a tenant with an existing lease selling their leasehold interest with the consent of the City Council.

The City Council is now seeking tenants for two vacant units in the English Market

  • Unit 3 Grand Parade Market
  • Unit 6 Grand Parade Market

The City Council requires a tenant who will complement the ethos and heritage of the English Market as a traditional open-stall indoor food market where one of the most important aspects is the quality and variety of produce on offer and which is consistent with a traditional indoor food market.

In seeking a new tenant, Cork City Council will seek to ensure that the nature of businesses carried on in the English Market as a whole shall be of an equally high standard, quality and tone and be as diverse as possible.

Cork City Council considers that there is currently a sufficient mix of hot food and café type units in the Market which shall be maintained, however it does not propose to permit any further hot food or café-type units in the Market at this time and tenderers should be mindful of same when tendering.

All tender documentation will be available on www.eTenders.gov.ie from Thursday 31st October 2013 and all queries should be addressed via this website.  The closing date for receipt of tenders is 4pm on Thursday 21st November 2013.
